Today (September 30, 2026) the meeting and discussion "Let's evaluate our successes and define our problems" was organized in cooperation with Mongolia's Amnesty International in order to discuss the implementation and results of the recommendations submitted by the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia in the field of improving the rights and protection of the elderly, and to determine the joint direction of further implementation.
The Commission has traditionally organized a series of meetings and discussions every year on the occasion of the Elders' Rights Day. In this discussion, we discussed the implementation results and achievements of the Commissioner's recommendations submitted to the Prime Minister of Mongolia in the framework of the previous meeting, as well as the issues to be considered in the future. More than 40 representatives of government and non-government organizations, elders, youth and international organizations participated in the meeting.

The meeting and discussion was opened by H. Monkhzul, a member of the NHRC, who presented the results of the work carried out by the Commission in recent years in the field of improving the rights and protection of the elderly.
He submitted a recommendation to the Prime Minister of Mongolia on how the Commission should hold discussions on the rights of the elderly in 2024 and 2025, summarizing the opinions and conclusions of the participants and considering a total of 7 sets of issues. Appreciating the results achieved in the implementation of the recommendation, the National Human Rights Commission analyzed the implementation of the rights of the elderly in its 3 reports on the state of human rights and freedom in Mongolia and discussed it in the Parliament. Subsequently, the National Assembly approved three resolutions and mandated the government to ensure the implementation of the resolutions.

He noted that the government should pay attention to the implementation of these resolutions, as well as the cooperation of NGOs and organizations working in the field of the elderly, and it is important to evaluate the implementation of the law even if the law and policy of the elderly are sufficient.
